I know I'm late to the game, but... Yep, sounds like the rev. limiter. If you don't want this, you'll need to have a ECU upgrade. I have not upgraded anything on my car, '01 v70-T5M and mine isn't rev-limited until roughly 6200rpm. The only time I noticed the rev limiter cut out at 5500 was @ 130mph...

Car has 105k miles, timing belt just done, put 100 miles on the car and P0305 comes up.
