So is the programming and software of the UEM just for the keyfob? Everything else on the car seems to work fine with a new virgin mirror and UEM. Volvo dealer told me my car would be a driveway ornament without the programming.

Okay. My stupidity. Apparently when I originally attempted to use the original mirror with new glass, not knowing I had damaged the UEM, it blew the fuse. I put the brand new mirror with new UEM back on it, changed the fuse, hooked up the battery cable and indeed everything but the remotes worked ...
