My first guess would be a crack in the coolant reservoir, especially if its original. You can pull it out fairly easily and check, but they are known for cracking, my guess is there is a crack just above where the level... levels out at.

Unfortunately, as often happens, the listing is now gone. To be clear, I have no idea if it would work or not trying to do anything fancier than diagnosing the car or clearing codes w/ 2014d vida but its a good deal if that's all you need it for.
