Re: Hot weather leading to dash outage? —98 Volvo V70
Well I messed around with them a little, cleaned them. The harness leading under the lower dash is a little hard to pinpoint. Too many connectors. But I put it all back together, replaced burnt out ABS bulb—haven’t driven it during the heat of the day yet, but no ABS light. Speedo is now reading a c...

Re: Hot weather leading to dash outage? —98 Volvo V70
Hi Scott, do you have a photo of that multi pin connector? And is the speedo connector the largest connector on the cluster? Found that the ABS light bulb is burned out. Likely is on——but no codes to be pulled from OBDII. Am i right in thinking the ABS codes can’t be pulled from OBD on this car and ...

Re: Hot weather leading to dash outage? —98 Volvo V70
Anyone happen to know what a “cross coil driver” is? Whether it’s a plug or the ignition coil or some another?
Seems like whatever it is it’d be the problem, but not sure where to look.

Re: Hot weather leading to dash outage? —98 Volvo V70
No problem—yes, no fuel gauge, no temp gauge, no rev counter and no speedometer. All gauges a week ago would go wonky at seemingly random, the only condition that it was 100+ degrees out (it wouldn’t at night or morning), and now all will read below the bottom line of each respective gauge. Again th...

Only the gauges. Car runs just fine. Warning lights all still function as does illumination.

Re: The classic ticking
Mine went away after some seafoam and an oil change. Probably a dirty lifter.

Hot weather leading to dash outage? —98 Volvo V70
In Texas. 100 degrees most days. As title says, if I drive the car in the middle of the day, the gauges all go out. a week ago they would bounce very sporadically and crazy when it was very hot, but today they are all sitting comfortably below their respective meters upon startup. Gas, speedometer, ...

Re: The great P80 Volvo Bloopers - Idiots - Fails thread - April 2020
Not yet! Went to change the brakes on the driver front side today and the lugs were so tight I couldn't even loosen them with a 2 foot breaker bar and a floor jack! Even bent the breaker! So have to head to a tire shop and get them to loosen the damn things and hope they don't break a stud
