Good morning Gents, I have found a 95 850GLT with under 54,000 miles. Thinking about buying it for my daughter. If in good shape do you think it is worth 3750.00. Will definately do a code and mileage check. Here is the add. 95’ Volvo 850 GLT Sedan 4D 2.4 litre engine / Automatic transmission / Air ...

Re: fuel pressure test gauge, 1995 850
When I was having my no power issue my fuel pump was very loud. After I reconnected the loose hose inside the fuel pump assembly the pump got quiet again. I think without the backpressure of the fuel line the pump was over spinning causing the impeller to cavitate creating the louder noise. Suction ...

Re: 850 turbo intermittent no start
Mine would jump to 43 when key was turned on and bleed down to almost 0 within 10 seconds. I think you can check the FPR by pinching the return hose with a pair of pliers and see if pressure rises quickly. If it rises it is good. Do not hold it shut for very long at all. Have you noticed a loss of p...

Re: 850 turbo intermittent no start
Does your fuel pressure hold at 39 PSI (should be 43 to 44 PSI) with key on, motor off or does it bleed down? Could be the hose has come loose inside the fuel pump assembly that connects the pump to the discharge nipple. There are some good pictures of the problem in the "How to remove fuel pum...

Re: Knock knock, from the top of the struts
Mine was more of a creaking noise from the right side. When I took the spring seat off it had collapsed and was rubbing on the strut mount. It had actually cut a groove into the spring seat from rubbing. I would try Ozarks suggestion of greasing the stops first. If that does not solve it get an oil ...

Re: Knock knock, from the top of the struts
For the spring seats replace them with OEM XC90 spring seats which fit fine but they are much beefier. They only cost a few dollars more than the standard 850 seats. ...Lee Pay particular attention to this recomendation. I installed FCP spring seats, 2 months later replaced them with these because ...

Re: 1995 violvo 850 turbo
It should hold 43.9 PSI measured at the schrader valve on the end of the injector rail, key on, engine not running. I just went through this process of low acceleration and no power. It turned out to be the hose inside the fuel pump assembly that connects the pump to the discharge nipple was not con...

Re: And Now The Rest Of The Story (Fuel Pressure Issues Solved!)
Edit: At the bottom of the housing, there is a rubber base/spacer, which helps to hold the pump. If that one became loose or fells off, it would cause the pump slid down. That is a good point. It did look like some of the cushion on bottom was hanging out of the bottom hole. The housing was in good...
