Re: 2006 XC70 hesitates on heavy acceleration after changing PCV system
For those gather data: Car ran okay this morning, though still a low growl when accelerating. I read that resetting the EMC can help zero things out after major Volvo engine work, so that I did (unplugged battery and kept the bland and red cables together for half an hour. Car was hard to keep runni...

Re: 2006 XC70 hesitates on heavy acceleration after changing PCV system
Folks, I really want to thank you for your time. Seriously, thank you. I unplugged the MAF sensor and it ran better. I then removed the MAF and cleaned it with MAF Cleaner, and now it runs much better with the MAF sensor connected. I still get a lag accompanied by what sounds like a growling noise -...

Re: 2006 XC70 hesitates on heavy acceleration after changing PCV system
The new injectors are Bosch...what a pain to find any in stock at the local stores here in Chicagoland (many stores said they had them, only to shrug their shoulders once I actually came in for the claim.) I changed the O-rings and lubed them before installation. I'll grab another can of brake clean...

2006 XC70 hesitates on heavy acceleration after changing PCV system
Howdy folks, I replaced the PCV system on my XC70 with the kit from IPD. I also cleaned the throttle body with brake parts cleaner and replaced the gasket. Whole thing went faster than I thought it would, though a couple of the injectors needed replacing as the tips came off during removal. Changed ...

Re: Engine code after cleaning Exhaust VVT
Yep, just the metal parts, thanks. I left the electronic part out of the cleaning solution, along with the rubber grommet. The engine code (P03**?) has gone away since my last post...hmmmmm. I do have a P0017 code, but that predates the VVT cleaning. I have not cleaned or changed the oil separator b...

Engine code after cleaning Exhaust VVT
Had a stuck exhaust VVT. Cleaned it ultrasonically (did not clean the rubber grommet,) and now parts move freely. After putting it back together I am getting a different engine code, which I forget at the moment but will go out to get that in a minute. Should I have done something specific when clea...

Instrument cluster lights not working
I replaced my original instrument cluster with a used one from eBay. Besides adding 115,000+ miles to the car, some of the lights do not work - specifically the numbers on the speedometer and tachometer do not illuminate, though others lights work fine. Any ideas? Also, is there a way to use VIDA to...

Used instrument cluster adds 110,000 miles to my 2006 XC70
The original instrument cluster on my 2006 XC70 failed, so I bought a used one off eBay. As the used one adds about 110,000 miles to my car I'd like to know if there is a way I can use VIDA or another tool to set the displayed miles to the original count.
Thanks in advance
