S80 2000 P0011 Variable timing non-turbo

Runs rough, occasional stall, pulls code P0011. Is there a procedure to follow to determine where in the variable timing system the fault lies? Replacing the solenoid is dead simple but $200 wasted if that's not the problem. If I remove the solenoid will that tell me anything? Thanks in advance for ...

2000 S80 brake line replacement

Need to replace cracked brake lines (front) on non-turbo. Cannot get the union at the flex line and the metal line to separate, even with PB. Did not remove the bracket in which the union sits, as it doesn't appear to be needed. Am I getting it wrong or am I missing a trick? Replies appreciated, tha...

Air filter question ...... stymied by the simpleist thing

Newly acquired 2000 S80 and I'm doing all the service. Cannot get the cover off the air filter box. I've unclipped the 3 latched that run along the front but it's apparently hung up along the back. I don't see any kind of clip or anything else that needs undoing? What am I missing? Thanks in advance...
