Being a quart low is not gonna cause a stall. If it did, you’d have much bigger problems. Any Check Engine Light? OBD ll codes? Regarding whether or not the sensor and warning light are tied into the ECU, have you downloaded the manual of schematics? It should be clearly indicated there happy wheel...
