1999 c70 (fyi)

My top is stuck down. The latches won't unlatch. The right side part you insert the flat head in has separated partially from the mechanism. Does that side operate the latches? I can turn the Allen wrench and it wants to rise and fall but can't bc the latches aren't unlatched. Advice appreciated.

I have a similar issue. Both latches for the top cover won't release. If I manually try to lift the top with the hex it bows the cover bc it isn't unlatched on both sides. The right side screw port does appear to have separated. I'm assuming that's why the latches aren't unlatching. Can you describe...

OK, the coverplate looks to be down to the point the latch motor needs to operate to pull it down. The coverplate latch motor is under the other flap on the trunk top stowage well wall. You use a blade screwdriver and you do push in to disengage to motor from cables so the screwdriver will turn and...
