Update. I had my ecm cloned in to a second hand ecm. Fitted the replacement and it fired up first turn of the key.

No evidence of water ingress and plugs and connectors spotlessly clean (no corrosion) on ECM. Strange how it instantly died while driving with no symptoms leading up to that point.
