Re: Connecting "new" type CVVT reset valve
For how long was I happy... The saga continues :) After replacing VVT solenoid the ECM-6440 is gone. But I am now getting ECM-644A while driving, sometimes also CEL. Engine is idling rough when ECM-644A is activated, smooth when I reset the code. It is also hard to start when hot/semi-hot. Any ideas...

Re: Connecting "new" type CVVT reset valve
Thanks for the help and support.
I chopped of the connector from my -03 spares engine and just hooked it up in my car, installed the new solenoid, and it started up just fine

Re: Connecting "new" type CVVT reset valve
I went on FCP Euro and saw that a replacement solenoid for an 01 is the newer style connector that you mentioned. They give you two red wires and "seem" to say , tie them into your existing wires and go. Its just a solenoid, maybe it doesn't matter which way they are hooked up. Years back...

Connecting "new" type CVVT reset valve
My 2001 S60 2.0T, "the problem child", is throwing ECM-6440 and I measure infinite resistance at the solenoid. This car has the original Volvo solenoid with "straight" connector, and I have a spare one with the newer "180 degree connector" available. Problem is that I n...

Re: ETM interchangable, Magneti marelli, S60 2.0T
Can you provide more details about the car and the symptoms you're having? Is the car NA or turbo, what was the original problem and the reason you rebuilt the ETM with a contactless sensor? What are the symptoms after the rebuild? Did you do the rebuild with the contactless sensor and if so did yo...

Re: ETM interchangable, Magneti marelli, S60 2.0T
Did you calibrate it prior to rebuilding? Also, do note that these throttle bodies fail not only on the sensor side, but also other electronics. No, I did not calibrate before rebuilding. Just presumed it was the position sensor, and that a rebuild to contactless may make it work. When I opened it ...

Re: ETM interchangable, Magneti marelli, S60 2.0T
My project car is not running as it should, even after rebuilding ETM to contactless, and I need to try replacing the ETM with a used one. I have on hand an ETM from T6 engine, can this one be used? Can you provide more details about the car and the symptoms you're having? Is the car NA or turbo, w...

Re: O2 sensor indicating lean, running rich
It would make sense that if the O2 sensor is (falsely) reading too lean that the system would richen the mixture in reaction. Maybe try a new O2 sensor?? Also, have you connected a fuel pressure gauge at the injector rail to make sure the pressure isn’t running too high? Thanks, will check fuel pre...

Re: O2 sensor indicating lean, running rich
Also found out today that PCV was quite blocked, and may never has been serviced as it had the original fitting to the lower hole in the block (fitting with two torx).
