Re: Intermittent rough cold start 04 XC70
If you vape or smoke there's a free way to test at least the intake vacuum lines. Pop the line off of the intake nipple. Take a big puff and blow it down that line. Do it a bunch of times and eventually you'll have enough smoke in there for it to be coming out of any holes in the lines. Thats how I ...

Re: Sudden hard start issue
I had a similar issue where I would get a hard start if it was the first one of the day. Once it was warmed up everything ran fine. I replaced the fuel pump and nothing changed. It ended up being my CBV a little gasket in the turbo housing was leaking air past the MAF sensor and throwing the system ...

Re: Brake rotors replacement ‘07 V70
You can look into resurfacing like cn90 mentioned. But the last time I checked around. At least in my smallish town, the only shop that did it was O'Reilly's and they wanted to charge me 50$ a rotor. Check local machine shops too though. Most of those joints have at least a lathe and an old guy will...

04 xc70 banjo bolt crush washers
Hey all! Just a little heads up here. In case you were thinking "wow I've dropped and lost my crush washers that were on the banjo bolt for the PCV cooling hose, maybe i can just tighten it enough and itll be fine?" No. No you cannot not. The gyser coolant coming out of the engine would im...

Re: 04 xc70. intake leak CBV
Just an update to this. After replacing my cbv with the ipd kit it cleared my hesitant start. Fires right to life now! If you've got an intake leak code give that a check. I used a "smoke machine" by unplugging the vacuum line attached to the intake and blowing vape smoke through it with m...

Re: 04 xc70. intake leak CBV
I pulled the original CBV and holy crap it was not easy to get out, the edge of the diaphragm was all wobbly and stretched out and clearly was not sealing anymore. I picked up the IPD replacement CBV just waiting on shipping. I don't have any coolant leaks to my knowledge haven't seen the reservoir ...

04 xc70. intake leak CBV
Hello! I've got a strange issue. On my 220k mile xc70 I'm having some cold start issues. On the first start of the day my xc70 will hesitate to start. She cranks. Catches. And then idles really poorly for about 10 seconds and dies. I assumed it was a fuel issue. I replaced the fuel pump. I've ran it...

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
An update on my pump replacement. The replacement went smoothly. Still the same issues though. If I let the car sit for a day, the first start the car will shudder and die. If I immediately try to start again It fires right up and runs smoothly. At this point I'm not sure what is causing the issues....

You're an absolute life saver. Gonna grab a fuel pump and all the stuff to do one!
