Re: no heat - winter is coming.
Hello again, the project is nearly complete. Reporting in to review the issues. The movie of this would be a comedy of me folding up into the floor and swearing and even laughing and yelling. As 6ft 2" and not especially bendable at 46 yr old, (ruptured disc in neck, etc...) my esteem of mechan...

Re: no heat - winter is coming.
Do the heater core while you can! Mine blew up two days ago without warning and left me stranded far from my space & tools. No choice to send the car to a Volvo shop. Looks like it is a hard work ahead said the Volvo tech... So just do my heater core and see what the heat is afterward? Even tho...

Re: no heat - winter is coming.

A $20 aux heater should get you byif you don't want to pay a shop. https://www.amazon.com/Portable%EF%BC%88-Cigarette-Rotatable-Defroster-Windshield/dp/B0FXPV7GJD/ref=sxin_15_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.8689ebb8-1...

Re: Almost no heat - winter is coming.
Okay, I got the gun, took the measurements. With the car running hot, the heater and blower were off, the measurement was very close together. 90C on the right, 86C on the left, with the laser on the plastic elbow as shown. After turning on the heater to max, the air was initially a tiny bit warm. A...

Re: no heat - winter is coming.
Get an infrared heat thermometer for $20. After a hot run, turn the heat off so the heater core does not have to get rid of heat too much, measure the temp diff at firewall inlet vs outlet hoses and post it here. If there is a big diff, then the HC is clogged. PS: if you ever replace HC, stick to B...

Re: no heat - winter is coming.
Car has 195K on it, i have owned it since 135K and done no coolant flush. I don't suspect the blend door because I can see the control arm for the blend door move from stop to stop. (I can only see one blend door arm for one passenger side, the other is out of the way I cannot see it) I can detect h...

no heat - winter is coming.
Novice here. Heater not producing hardly any heat. The inlet/outlet coolant lines at the firewall are both hot to the touch, so the core should be seeing coolant flow.... the blower is good, all the actuators seem to work within the ventilation system. Would a mostly clogged heater matrix still prod...
