Hey Samer.
Unfortunately, everything on these need to be reprogrammed (Volvo around here keeps calling it "upgrading" :D ) when replaced. Even just replacing the VCM battery needs a trip to the dealer.
Well, at least the electronically connected stuff. You can replace the VCM yourself (it's just a ...

Re: 2018 Volvo S90 T8 plug-in Hybrid - Car & Driver likes it
After many years away, I'm back to Volvo and just bought one of these. '18 S90 T8, Inscription, black with amber interior.
Fingers crossed the S90/V90 forums will be as helpful as the 850 and V70 sections have been in years (and cars) past.

Re: Exhaust and crankcase condensation
All the turbo Volvos I've had, have been "steamy". :) I ran a catch can on the last one for a while, and it'd see quite a bit of stuff and water, and even then it'd be white-smoking quite a bit.

This is awesome!
Just a note to Euro peeps - check your part# and make sure you get a Euro bin file to tweak/flash. Most people seem to think US/Eur files are interchangeable, but I found a whole heap of undeciphered differences between two US/Eur files that were supposed to be identical.

I'm sure I have those files floating around on my old laptop somewhere.

Re: 850 T5 Blue Smoke after a couple hours of sitting
So now I'm curious - When Sveedy was completely stock I noticed that the stock dash turbo gauge didn't rise above about 3/4 of the way into the white under wot. Now with mods I've made I see the gauge go all the way to the far right, basically burying the needle. Any idea what the stock gauge is ...

Re: 850 T5 Blue Smoke after a couple hours of sitting
Thing is, I didn't tune it there, it was like that when I bought the car and I have no idea what has been done to the car. Boost takes ages to build anyway. And it did make 1.5 bar unless the gauge is way off.
Sorry about the slow reply.
Your car shouldn't see anything above ~0.8 bar stock ...

Re: 850 T5 Blue Smoke after a couple hours of sitting
The turbo will last forever
The connecting rods, your first full throttle 22psi pull.
Will it, though? ;)
22 psi is quite nuts on a stock setup in any case. Boost will kill the connecting rods, or the 15G will make nothing but heat and cook the whole thing... It's up there on 19T levels ...

Re: 850 T5 Blue Smoke after a couple hours of sitting
I got rid of all the turbo leaks and the car happily burns rubber in third gear. However - how long does the 15G turbo last at 1.5 bar boost and a ECU tune? Starting to get worried I might kill the thing.
22 psi? Who told you that was a good idea on a 15G?
As to how long... not very. You're ...

Re: 1999 v70 white-ish smoke from tailpipe
Unless you're losing coolant without a leak, it's not coolant. That's the crux of this, really - like the others have said, you should fix the known issue to be able to gauge the unknown.
