Following up on above. Fault code still present after new seat belt catches installed. Mechanic now says ignition switch probably sending low voltage and that needs to be replaced. I questioned him why I bought new seat belt catches if that was not the problem. He reasoned that the time to troublesh...

The seat belt sensor, actually a switch, is built into the seat belt catch, Volvo part # 9191817-7, $75.81 list price. It triggers/arms the srs system.
