I'll need to inspect it more thoroughly, but I'm pretty sure it's only horizontal. In and out.
Thanks for all your replies.

1993 960 2.9 crankshaft pulley stripped
I just picked up a 1993 960 6 cylinder wagon with 190k miles. The timing belt went on it and bent the exhaust valves I removed the head and had a shop check the head and replace the exhaust valves. Started to put things back together and could not line up the timing marks. When the cams are aligned ...

Re: 2000 v70xc bevel gear replacement/rebuild
Is there anymore info on rebuilding the bevel gears. I have a 2000 v70 xc also?
I'm trying to locate the pinion bearings. I'm reading the numbers on the bearings, but no luck yet in finding them. Seems like others have run into the same roadblock.

Re: 2000 V70 XC rotted drive shaft support bracket
No, that's not it. There is a big hump in the middle as the exhaust runs under the bracket and the drive shaft over the top.

2000 V70 XC rotted drive shaft support bracket
I have a 2000 V70 XC AWD. The center bearing support bracket for the propeller shaft that bolts to the undercarriage is rotting away and I need to replace it before reinstalling my drive shaft. It's not an easy part to find. Salvage yards don't have anything. Does anyone know the part number for thi...

Re: DIY: Oil Pan/Sump O-Ring Replacement 2000 XC
Well turns out the leak was coming from where the turbo return line connects into the oil pan. We replace the o ring and that took care of it.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'll check the pcv again to make sure it's not plugged, and then give it another shot at resealing.

Re: DIY: Oil Pan/Sump O-Ring Replacement 2000 XC
The last time I checked it was a few months ago, there doesn't seem to be any pressure or white smoke coming from there. I used a glove and put it over the oil fill and it sucked in and I don't have white smoke coming from the dip stick. The PCV system has never been changed though and there is 182,...

Re: DIY: Oil Pan/Sump O-Ring Replacement 2000 XC
The leak hasn't been real big, but pretty sure this time the leak is from the pan since it seems to have blown some of the sealant out of the joint. Going to try again in a couple of days and will make sure there is no residue on the surfaces and see what happens. thanks for your quick reply.
