Sounds like you have a valve or two that may not be properly seating during the starting process. They can get slightly stuck if they have sat partially open for a while. As long as the engine starts and runs well once started, you have little to worry about. Just get out there and drive it more oft...

I agree with Jerry that auxiliary shaft timing is not critical with the camshaft driven distributor. The camshaft sprocket timing marks are clear and difficult to miss....

Look at the "flasher" FIRST.

The black socket is reusable and the bulb is replacable and pulls out of the socket. Go to any auto parts store and look through their new bulbs to find the replacement size.
