I've put a standard engine-driven lawnmower in the back of my 2000 V70XC a number of times, no issues. Just had to lower the handle.
PS. Between leaks and mechanical issues, the sunroofs tend to be nothing but issues on these car. You're not missing out too much.

Re: Going into park trans.
Check the torque link that attaches the transmission to the subframe. If it's never been replaced, there's a good chance it's rotted out and allowing a lot of movement between gears. As far as the transmission internals go, definitely a good idea to keep the fluid nice and clean. A series of drain +...

Re: 2000 V70 XC - how do you know if awd is working correctly?
Damn, nice ressurection of a 6 year thread. At this age and presumable miles, most AWD systems from the 97-00 range are fried. I took my drive shaft and angle gear out almost 10 years ago and haven't looked back. Only downside is the occasional small dribble of ATF I get from my jury-rigged angle ge...

I have a 2000 XC and had this issue. Took off the round plate in rear trunk area above the fuel tank and had a small hose cracked open.

Re: 99' S70 weird coolant hose leak
I had this happen years ago. THere may be some creative solutions, but honestly the safest and most reliable long term bet will be to replace the radiator. I always try and be careful dealing with that nipple and the drain plug on the radiator.

Re: Have you bought a brand new P80?
My dad bought my 2000 XC in Feb of that year, of course I was only 9 years old so most of my experience in it was growing up in the rear seats. He gave it to me in 2008 during my first year at college and it's been with me on hundreds of aventures ever since. If I could have a new car right now, I w...

I was impressed. And they never dumped the fuel, which is interesting. Over a city, not high enough, no time? Or no need, as it was flying just fine on one engine as designed? But heavy, right, with a non-stop to Hawaii? Speaking as a layman here - The way that engine was shaking in the mounts, may...

Re: Fluid in compressor housing (TD04-HL 15G)
I mean, water is water and coolant is coolant. I don't think there's any other reasonable explanation for what you've got there. It is possible coolant could leak from the seal inside the turbo, but usually that would also lead to a fair amount of white smoke out the back of the exhaust. If you're p...

Re: Fluid in compressor housing (TD04-HL 15G)
If it's not coolant, I agree with your assessment that cold and wet conditions likely just caused a good amount of condensation build up. Some harder driving at operating temp should clear that right up.
