V90 1998 (160K+ miles) blower has all 5 speeds when car idling, but only slightly cool air blowing, even at 5-setting. I also have a V90 1998, and have been told it does not have an air cabin filter. I recall a thread somewhere (and perhaps not completely or accurately) that in some European models (but not US) it was possible to retrofit one, but had to compromise the firewall.
