Fremont Volvo Motorcars SLEAZY RIP OFF ATTEMPT!

HERE'S A COPY OF THE LETTER SENT TO FREMONT VOLVO DEALER MANAGEMENT, ALSO FORWARDED TO VOLVO : In the area 6/30 thought I'd come in to Fremont Motorcars Volvo for an oil change service and service light reset (which comes on about every 5,000 miles as an oil change reminder in these Volvos). I usua...

Re: '98 S70 NA ECU J6.2 (743) vs J9.2 (299) Difference?

Think I answered my own question. J6.2's (743's) was I think just superceeded by J9.2 (299's). I've known another person with a J6.2 ECU having the same problem I had so I'm thinking there might be an issue with the older rev ECU's. So far replacing it with a J9.2 seemed to have fixed it and it has ...

'98 S70 NA ECU J6.2 (743) vs J9.2 (299) (poss. J6.2 issues?)

Working on an ECU related problem for my '98 S70 Non Turbo. Original ECU was J6.2 P/N 0261204743 Ordered used replacement ECU, which is from another '98 S70 Non Turbo Auto that came J9.2 ending in 299. I was a little reluctant when I realized but I figured I'd try it, drove for a while and no proble...

I'll go ahead and try it, hopefully that stiff one will just wear in once installed and hopefully they'll last a reasonable amount of time. cool, thanks for the input!

New Tie Rods, should "one" be extremely stiff, one be loose?

Well, one day my rack started pukin' PS fluid out the boot so I bought a rebuilt from The Rack Doctor, thousands of positive feedback on eBay, got it cheap. That rack was fine except it started leaking fluid out of the top seal at the input shaft. He wanted a deposit to send out another and I was wo...

Re: 1998 S70 Cannot Find Altitude Sensor (w/Pics), Please Help!

The pink connector goes to what is just a blank, not even shaped like the baro/alt sensor, just a light, hollow blank, holder. There are absolutely no connectors inside of it, same for the connector from the bottom attached near to/near the washer tank from underneath. My conclusion is that this '98...

Re: 1998 S70 Cannot Find Altitude Sensor (w/Pics), Please Help!

I'm really starting to think some just don't have this, I don't know where else to look . . . . I think one of those Connector Blanks / Holders in that area that has nothing connected to it, just a Holder, is where vehicles equipped with one is supposed to have them, while this one doesn't. I guess ...

Re: 1998 S70 Cannot Find Altitude Sensor (w/Pics), Please Help!

Then I guess I don't have one because that's definately not what's connected to the pink connector, it's just a holder. I've got the replacement Altitude Sensor in my hand and thats for sure not whats connected to it, it's just a blank connector holder, light hollow, no connectors inside it, nothing...

1998 S70 Cannot Find Altitude Sensor (w/Pics), Please Help!

1998 S70 Cannot Find Altitude Sensor (AKA Map / Barometric Sensor Volvo P/N 1275342). I feel like an idiot. It's probably right there somewhere but I need to find this and can't. I researched it and heard people say right behind the Headlight in front of the Washer Tank, near the Hood Latch. I also ...
