The compressor was new two years ago. System is fully charged and has not been recharged from compressor replacement which was done at a shop. Last 4 months the compressor keeps switching on and off every couple of seconds. Any suggestions other than take it to a shop. I am a fair mechanic.

Thanks to everyone that helped. It ended up being the fuel pump itself. Got one on line and took about 45 min to install and the car works great now.

I have determined that the fuel pump is dead. I tried to jump the relay and no joy. Tank has 8 gal and no fuel on the rail and no sound of any kind at the pump which I exposed to be sure.

Dont want to spend a great deal of money on a new one. Your help is appreciated.

I did try the paperclip and it had no effect. It never started with it in the jumper mode. When it started yesterday it was as it was new, no bypass or jumper.
