Re: 1994 855T PNP Switch Replacement -stuck on one of the s

Thank you, Lee, polska and rspi! Thank you for your great coaching, write up and video - in that order! As I explained to polska in a PM, the key to the electrical connector releasing itself from the black connector box I discovered (and as you guys said!) is to insert a small bladed between the bac...

Re: 1994 855T PNP Switch Replacement -stuck on one of the s

Thanks, Lee. Where do you place the three or four screw drivers? Do you place them all in the slot at one end of the connector box or do you insert them down between the pins in the box?

Many thanks,

1994 855T PNP Switch Replacement -stuck on one of the steps

I see my college-aged operator of the above vehicle very infrequently, so with the vehicle's arrival home for Spring Break there are a couple of routine maintenance items and one not so routine. Thankfully, the dreaded flashing yellow arrow presented itself here and not on the road. I have determine...

1994 855T Finishing up Evap replacement - A last hurdle

Thanks, to Chuckcintron's fabulous photographic write up I am just about to finish up replacing the evaporator and heater cores in our 1994 855T. It is definitely a big job but the write up is really a life saver. Breaking the task down in to components makes the whole process seem less daunting. I ...

Re: PCV Dilemma 1994 855T

Thanks, guys for your replies. When I was replacing my heater hoses this past weekend I removed the PTC. I noticed that the nipple was solidly plugged up. I soaked it brake clean and used a retired dental scrapeing tool to reach as much crud as I could. Used a paper clip and the better part of a can...

PCV Dilemma 1994 855T

In 2009 I had disassembled my '94 855T with the intent to replace the radiator and do a complete PCV service. I had a serious oil leak which, based on everything I read on this forum, was probably the RMS. I was hopeful that a PCV service would correct my car's Mobil 1 incontinence. As it turned out...

Re: Stubborn heater hoses on '94 855T

Thanks for your reply. It took me closer to two hours but I finally got them both removed. I used my set of picks, steak knives and screwdrivers. Both tabs were there but they were very soft and were starting to tear. I think they refused to budge because they appeared to be the original hoses and w...

Stubborn heater hoses on '94 855T

Tried posting this earlier and I think I lost my text in the submission process. My apologies if this is a duplicate. I am replacing the heater hoses in my '94 855T. Disassembly has been straightforward right up to the point of removing the hoses from the coupler on the firewall. I read elsewhere on...

Re: Smoke from dipstick, changed PVC and cleaned PTC

I recall reading somewhere, I can't think of where at the moment, that someone scraped the pcv system and came up with a simpler, easier to service alternative for our 850s that still performed the "venting" function. I can't remember what if any impact it had on tripping a CEL or if there...
