Volvo wants about $800 to reactivate my cruise control. Its $669 for the software from Volvo and about $150 for the dealer! What are the ways around this? Yes, the horn and radio controls do work. Is there a way to disconnect the hot wire that turns on the cruise? Does that left hand panel on the wheel with the cruise controls come off easily? I sure don't want to activate tha air bag. Thank you for your help. [email protected]

de-activated cruise control - 2004 V70
I just purchased a 2004 V70 from the original owner. They had the cruise control "de-activated" by the dealer. Anyone have any idea what might have been done or how a professional would handle this job? Is it software related?
