Cheers for commnet, turned out it was the damper motor, removed it, cleaned it and refitted it and now all ok, cheers

Many thanks for all the comments, it was the damper motor, pulled it out cleaned it up (there was a load of gunk from the gears over the contacts and tracks on the small circuit board) and it all works fine and dandy - Cheers for the help and guidence
