Hi happy new year to you, & thanks once again for your reply. Yes the ignition was turned on & I was supplying power from the battery. I also notice the ptrol gauge seems to keep going up to full, which I believe it to be & then dropping down to empty. Dont know wether this is connected....

Hi Merry Christmas to you. Yes I did say I have no spark. I have held the coil wire away from a good earth, while supplying power to the starter & no spark is seen. Cheers Reg

hi sorry for the delay been hard at work. When I turn the key I am getting good voltage at the end of the ignition switch harness, it just doesn't seem to get to the starter. I also dont have a spark when turning over. Cheers Reg.

Hi sorry I am sure its the 2 litre engine & the wire is the one going to the selonoid so I assume it comes from the ignition switch, if I put a voltmeter on the other end & turn the key there is no voltage. Thanks for your help. Cheers Reg
