Fixed. Called the company that makes the alternator. They told me how to wire it. Ground was on the wrong post. Exciter wire went to a new post also. Had to change the female spade connector on the exciter wire to a round post type connector.

Blue wire from alternator to ground (engine) is connected. Ran another wire from battery ground to alternator housing bolt. Still not charging. I cannot believe six new alternators are bad. It's only 3 wires. Battery, Ground and exciter wire.

I went to vacuum my a/c system to recharge with R134a. I could only find one port. Can anyone explain this? I will try to vacuum one side and hope that it works on both.

Found it, fixed it . done. Answered my own question.

I have 2 codes on my on board diagnostics. 1994 940 BF230 4cyl
One is for the VSS and the other is for low voltage.

The speedometer is working, is there something else I should be looking for?
Where is the VSS?

A penny got into the radio box most likely through the cassette opening and eventually landed on the rear internal connections of the multi pin harness and shorted it out.
