1994 940 Air conditioning ports

Post by sickboy »

I went to vacuum my a/c system to recharge with R134a. I could only find one port. Can anyone explain this? I will try to vacuum one side and hope that it works on both.

Evacuate, evacuate...as they say, you need a vacuum pump to evacuate your AC system in order to charge it.

Going down to the car wash, and using their vacuum cleaners will not work.

Yes, by hooking up the low side, and letting it evacuate for about 30 minutes, this should work fine.

Before adding refrigerant, let it sit for ten minutes with vacuum-pump line turned off. Bled off air before allowing refrigerant into your system.

And make sure the system holds the vacuum for that 30 minutes. If not, you need to find the leak
