Re: Shaking at 65mph plus feathered tires etc
Just a thought about that bump sound while turning: Bad Sway bar link or torn rubber strut mounting seat or control arm bushing. I have had all of these on a regular basis when making the right turn out of my housing plan. When all are replaced with heavier duty than OEM, like the ones from IPD, the...

Re: Engine shudder with AC
I'm very curious about this too because I believe I have the exact same issue. I have a 2006 XC70 with 61k miles and the same symptoms. The turbo engine in the 06 has a really pronounced intermittent shudder with the AC on, which then goes away when AC is turned off. Idle speed on the tach does not ...

Re: 2005 V70 ride height
Sorry for any confusion, this was a last resort, fly by the seat of your pants re-engineering effort here. :D When I checked on this option, I gave my code from the sticker in the engine bay and the parts dealer matched it to a certain spring. We then looked at others from the same model year that h...

Re: 2005 V70 ride height
I agree, my non-Turbo 2001 V70 scraped on everything in sight until I rebuilt the front end with HD strut mounts and put new springs on with Bilstein HD struts. Even with all this, I only gained 1" over original ride height measured at the top of the wheel well arch. I just bought a 2006 XC70 a...

Re: New guy with a few questions (2001 V70 T5)
The Tranny is your biggest con. If it has been either replaced or had the software changed early and has clean fluid, Go for it! To replace the Trans/Valve Body is about $4000 so it's definitely a gamble. If the fluid smells bad or is just really dirty, probably hasn't had the love. My 1st dealer (R...

Re: Buying my 4th wagon. Is the 2003 V70 a worthy candidate?
The refresh in 2003 gave the T5 a more stout transmission than the 2002 to handle the larger engine and power. Gas mileage went up 1-2mpg as well. Some of the wagons have a rare towing package with square removable insert in rear bumper and heavy duty shocks. The 03-04 T5 has slightly heavier spring...

Re: 2001 v70 tranny
I agree about the mounts, I replaced my tranny mount at 80k and what a difference in start, stop, and 1-2-3 shifts. Motor mount and cross brace bushings up top helped to some degree as well. Bought mine at IPD-USA and installed myself very easy. Please use the IPD link on top of this page to help su...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Tailgate
It's Probably one the Relays in the rear control panel in the cargo area. Usually behind side access panel. The lock servo occasionally goes bad too. This is located in the tailgate next to the lock assembly. Using your hand, gently bang on the metal near the release handle and alternate pushing the...
