is it possible to be 180 off engine timming when replacing a timming belt?...it won't start..is the r p m sencor picking up the right signal? any suggestions?...Mike

yes bill...i bought this car not running..the other guy put the balancer and the belt on and could not get it running..he had the belt on right..i bought a new belt and put it on..i did not like the looks of it..i also did a leak down test to see if the valves were o k and they were..i'm guessing it...

timing belt..on the 1990 740...is the crank sensor on top of the bell housing?

i have a 1990...it won't start after the h balancer was put on after it came off..i put a belt on it also..could it be a crank sencor?
