I just got an estimate from Volvo to repair the gas gauge, $2,665.00!

They said I need a new fuel tank sending unit to the tune of $1,525.00 and I have a shorted plate in the instrument plate in the instrument cluster that would cost $1,040.00 to repair!

One more thing, when the key is on the off position it goes down and when the car is started it goes to just under 12 gallons on the gauge.

My 1999 V70R has an inoperative fuel gauge. The miles to empty computer is also inoperative. Pulling the third seat and grounding the wire from the tank does nothing.
