A friendly reminder... clear and flush your sunroof drains! You will be happy if you do this before the next rain storm.
(My '04 XC70 sunroof decided to stop working while cracked just ever so slightly and the roof drains were clogged. Ugh.)

04 XC70 vacuum brake booster switch
I am having some brake issues. I rebuilt all calipers with rebuild kits. I took my time and cleaned them up nice before assmbly. New rear pads- front are still good. The caliper springs are installed correctly. I flushed out nasty fluid with Pentosin Super DOT 4. I went back twice and bled all four ...

Re: Lessons learned and tips? TB/SB, Heater core, and PCV.
I've ordered myself a new heater core which will be here in 5 days. Can I use a hose line clamp to pinch off one pr both lines to the heater core? I am only traveling about 6 miles to work. Is this an acceptable temporary fix? Forgot to mention this was my '99 v70.

Re: P0301, P0442 and high pitch buzz
Update: I returned all ignition coils to their proper locations and then replaced #1. The engine purrs, no CEL and no buzz. I drove a few miles and so far so good. Thanks to jblackburn, igel513 and DGM for the links!

Re: P0301, P0442 and high pitch buzz
I switched coil #1 with #5 (closest to driver's side = #5). I switched #2 with #4. I cleared the codes, started the engine and it still runs rough (but no CEL). I drive 5 miles back to work. Less than a mile into my drive, the CEL comes back. The codes are now: P300, P303 and P305 (I expected 305). ...

Re: P0301, P0442 and high pitch buzz
The codes are now P0300, P0301, P0302, P0442, CEL, fuel odor and buzzing. I took off the 2 black TB covers. I can't pinpoint the buzzing. The hut will have to continue tomorrow.

P0301, P0442 and high pitch buzz
2004 XC70 (with 145k) has a P0301 (Cylinder #1 misfire), P0442 Evap (small leak), a noticeable fuel odor and a high pitched buzz coming from the top of the engine (ie: i can hear it if i put my ear near the oil fill cap). oh and the CEL is on too. Last Saturday, the display gave me a loose gas cap w...

Re: P1054, TRACs and Check Engine
I finally had time to look over my V70. I found a broken wire on the passenger side at the connector. Unfortunately the break is 1/8" or 1/4" from the plug. So now I need to track down a new plug. Are these even available?

Re: P1054, TRACs and Check Engine
Is it safe to assume that I cannot test my 99 V70 ABS unit in my 2004 XC70? I'm guessing that they are different units between generations?
