Re: 2000 S80 T6 Aftermarket amp and subwoofers
I haven't the experience enough to comment on the volvo specific parts of your question, but if I were you, i would certainly rethink going with the Type S's. Those are some of the worst woofers on the market, and in no way will even remotely need a 1000W amp. Hell, the RMS wattage on those is only ...

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
It was as-is, but from a small time dealer. The craigslist type. Hes a very nice guy though, and legitimately had no issues out of the vehicle during the 3 months he was driving it. One thing that keeps popping up in my searches has been the alarm module, which seems to cause similar/the same sympto...

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
I know I could do it, but I work nearly an hour away, and I simply cannot miss any time at work. I probably would be able to do this pretty quickly if I had a car to borrow in the meantime, but alas, that is not in the cards. Before my current job, I had no other want than to work on cars. Unfortuna...

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
Thanks much for the pointers. I am having my CEM codes checked by a Volvo specialist that just so happens to be up the street from me tomorrow morning, and I think then I might have a better grasp of the issues here. I am pretty bummed though, because now I am broke, and I have no second car to fall...

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
Oh yeah, we checked the ignition switch too, it's seemed to be working fine though. It is melted slightly on the plastic parts though, is there something specific to look for? The pins meter out, from what we can see.

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
Well, we have checked the main engine bay fuses, verified 12+ on each fuse, and we have verified 12+ to the cem wires going to the overload relays, so that checks out. There is also 12+ at the cem relay for low beams. We do not have 12v at the headlight harness connector for the low beams, but we do...

Re: 99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
WOW! Thank you so much for the quick reply. Yes, we also suspect a power distribution failure. For what it is worth, I have tested with a known good battery out of my fathers Frontier, no change in symptoms. My next tests will focus on tracing a single failed component, probably the head lights at f...

99 S80: Major electrical failure. Please help?
am having some major electrical issues on my S80. I recently purchased the vehicle, and all systems were functioning perfectly, up until about 12 hours after buying it. Coming home from a trip, my lights (low beams and corner lens), cabin climate control, radio, windows, sun roof, passenger power se...
