2000 S80 T6 Aftermarket amp and subwoofers

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2000 S80 T6 Aftermarket amp and subwoofers

Post by wkoopmann »

Looking for any tips this is my first time to install any aftermarket stereo equipment. I plan on running a 1000 watt amp to two alpine type s twelves in the trunk. For the signal i plan on using a rca converter connected to the rear shelf speakers. I will obviously just run the power cord from the battery in the trunk to the amp. And i plan on running the rem cable of the 12 volt outlet that is in the center console for the rear seats. Let me know if this all sounds like it will work. Also any info on how to remove the cover on the shelf speakers will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks i really appreciate your time and tips.

I haven't the experience enough to comment on the volvo specific parts of your question, but if I were you, i would certainly rethink going with the Type S's. Those are some of the worst woofers on the market, and in no way will even remotely need a 1000W amp. Hell, the RMS wattage on those is only like 100W lmao.
