Re: 2007 S80 Replacing Gear Shifter Knob Cover

The shift knob pulls straight off of the shifter assembly, It isn't an easy job. I had to put a piece of plywood down on the seat and use a long pry bay to get enough leverage to pull the knob off. The lower plastic trim piece comes up from the back of the trim. You can pull on the rear of the boot ...

The modification is right about dead center in the photo, it is directly over the bolt that holds the tank to the engine block. I removed enough material to allow a socket to access the bolt.

If you have purchased another breather/separator box then just break the left tab under the accessory bracket. Then you can grind for clearance for a 10mm socket for access to install/uninstall the left bolt.

Re: 2001 S80 Total loss of electric power

There is a emergency access lock on the trunk lid, it is above the licence plate next to the trunk "handle" there should be a plastic guard over the lock.

Re: 1999 S80 T6 Engine Missed; Message Check Engine & Emissi

I would check the wiring harness to the coils, I have a 1999 T6 as well, wire insulation is starting to split. It started as a misfire (not firing at all) on one of my coils that was intermittent for a time. The other day it started consistently misfiring, that is when I finally dug in and found a 1 ...

Re: Need help -stuck removing brake booster S80 turbo

There is a clamp at the turbo on that pipe, 10 mm bolt, and you will beat your knuckles up getting it removed. After you remove the bolt in the clamp you will be able to wiggle the turbo pipe off and remove it from the car.

Hope this helps

Re: S-80 Timing belt questions

I just did this on my 1999 S80 T6, take the 4 bolts off and mark the pulley and balancer to ensure you put it back in the same orientation. This does not effect the pulley as the 30mm crank nut is what holds the pulley on.

Re: S-80 Timing belt questions

the balancer is only held on with the 4 bolts, the 30mm holds the aux pulley and timing gear.

Re: Car not shifting out of park, try this

It has been about 2 weeks now and it seems the solenoid is still being temperamental. I am now going to see if I can get a stronger spring to reset the pin when the car is on and foot on the brake. I have needed to open the top of the shift selector housing to allow me to stick my hand in far enough ...
