I got a Magnaflow universal Cat off EBAY brand new for $55 and brought it to a muffler shop and the guy put it on for $40 making the total cost 95. Everything works perfect.

Save your old cat because people have been getting about $150 or so for them on EBAY for scrap cats off Volvo 850's.

Keep your old dipstick and make sure the length is the same as the new one. There were changes to the length of dipsticks on some years. Some people had bought dipsticks with the same part number as the broken one and the lengths were different.

The specfication is 850 rpm, yes for the 850 :P . I have encountered a situation where the cluster doesn't report the correct RPM at idle and at idle only... but the car's computer reads the correct RPM... i've seen this problem on my uncle's S70 where his cluster reads 1000, but my OBDII scan tool...

You can buy the little gear for the odometer for $25 and if you are a tinkerer fix it yourself. EBAY was where I got mine. The instructions to fix are on volvospeed.com and might be on this site.

The little odometer gear breaking is a common problem to this car. A tooth breaks and it wont work.
