From what i have read and from what my muffler guy told me an NA will sound louder than a turbo when you change out the Cat and muffler with something like the Magnaflows or Borla.

Magnaflow works but there is a lot of ressonance after installing this.

I got a Magnaflow universal Cat off EBAY brand new for $55 and brought it to a muffler shop and the guy put it on for $40 making the total cost 95. Everything works perfect.

Save your old cat because people have been getting about $150 or so for them on EBAY for scrap cats off Volvo 850's.

I got mine given to me over the phone from a Volvo dealer.

Take the speakers out and inside see if the magnet on the tweeter has fallen off. I just found out about this. The glued on magnets fall off and the speaker wont work, its a known issue that few people know about. I found this out on Volvospeed. Ill bet this is the problem.

Keep your old dipstick and make sure the length is the same as the new one. There were changes to the length of dipsticks on some years. Some people had bought dipsticks with the same part number as the broken one and the lengths were different.

The specfication is 850 rpm, yes for the 850 :P .

I have encountered a situation where the cluster doesn't report the correct RPM at idle and at idle only... but the car's computer reads the correct RPM... i've seen this problem on my uncle's S70 where his cluster reads 1000, but my OBDII scan ...

You can buy the little gear for the odometer for $25 and if you are a tinkerer fix it yourself. EBAY was where I got mine. The instructions to fix are on volvospeed.com and might be on this site.

The little odometer gear breaking is a common problem to this car. A tooth breaks and it wont work.
