Need Help - Austin, Texas - SRS (air bag) scan
I need to get my 2004 XC70 scanned, any problems resolved, and reset (if there is no problem, as I suspect) this weekend if possible. "SRS Airbag Service Urgent" message popped up recently, and I need to get the car inspected ASAP. Can't afford the dealer or the indy shops that I know of i...

Re: Elecrical connector identification
After poring over a couple of the service manual sections, in "Replacing the Radiator / Charge Air Cooler (CAC)" I read the sentence: "Disconnect the connector from the receiver drier and the cable from the holder", and it all came back to me. I didn't even notice that the drier ...

Re: Elecrical connector identification
precopster - You nailed it with the larger of the two! I feel kind of silly (but relieved) that I didn't think to check the fan. I purposly put the fan installation on hold until I could find where the two connectors attach in case I have to remove the radiator/CAC/condensor assembly. Unfortunately...

Elecrical connector identification
I've been spending much of my otherwise free time this last week replacing the radiator in our 2004 XC70 (see the very recent thread "Radiator replacement" by vltjr in this forum), and I thought I was about done today until I found two free-hanging electrical connectors that I can't seem t...

Re: Local Volvo Guys
What are skucks? Just curious. I'm in Texas though, so I can't really directly help you out.

Re: Radiator replacement
Clarification - Please note that everywhere in this thread that I used the term "intercooler" (or IC), I should have been using "charge air cooler" (or CAC). Sorry about that.

Re: Radiator replacement
JDS60R - Thank you, thank you...etc! I wish I would have had that section earlier this week, but better late than never. It's nice to know that Volvo recognizes that parts of the procedure require more than two hands. Fortunately I got the entire assembly into place yesterday without having to disc...

Re: Air conditioning problem
jimmy57 - While our car isn't suffering with any A/C problems right now (or I should say, yet) that's great information that you posted. Thanks.

Re: Radiator replacement
I don't mean to be rude by bumping this thread, but I'm really stuck at trying to get the new radiator and the intercooler installed. Should I maybe wire tie them together in order to get them both in place at the same time (kinda the way they came out), or should I get the intercooler in there firs...

Re: 2004 XC70 Transmission drain plug
For any other XC70 neophyte who may have these same questions in the future, the answers are: Yes, that is the plug; yes generic will do - no need for a Volvo-specific washer; and yes, it is a crush washer.
