Fit kit 161 for Thule racks to fit 850, V70, S70

I'm selling this nearly new Thule fit kit 161 to install a Thule gutterless rack system on your 850, V70, or S70. I purchased the kit new in 2007 and used it for about three months before selling my 850. I'm still in the Volvo world but I'm back in RWD land so can't use this rack set up anymore. New...

I do know Volvo has issued a TSB extending the airbag service life to at least 15 years (I think it may have been extended further to "life of the car"). While there is a label on the door indicating service is needed at 10 years, the TSB stipulates the only service to be to replace the st...

OK, so I fixed the problem. I finally got around to checking out the front brakes and noted that the pads and rotors could stand to be replaced. I pulled off one caliper and replaced the rotor and pads without a problem. Got to the driver's side and... not so easy this time. Yep--frozen caliper. Get...

Yes, it's really quite tight in there and the offset screwdriver is definitely helpful. Even so I had to do a bit of prying on the plastic to get my hands down there. I replaced the hog rings for where the upholstry connects to the seatback but, like above, I used zipties for where it all comes toge...

This is a very common problem with 850s. The normal route is to replace the cable that runs from the motor/gear assembly on one side of the seat to the gear assembly on the other side of the seat. The motor is where the seat back comes down and attaches to the seat. Check out Bay 13 for more info. h...

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have dismissed ABS so quickly. Any suggestions on I can check to see if that's the problem? Would it require any kind of advanced equipment, or is it as simple as reading a code?

Thanks for the helpful replies, MadeInJapan.

OK, thanks for the responses, guys... sorry for the delayed response, but here's some more info... I did a bad job describing the problem, and I drove it some more, thinking about how to describe it better. The problem is more like the pedal pops up a little bit when removing your foot from the brak...

Thanks for the quick reply... some answers: 1. kinda doubt it's ABS; it doesn't feel the same way. This is more of a, um, clunk. I need to drive it tomorrow and really think about how to describe it. 2. not the transmission, it's a 5-speed. 3. caliper? intrigued. could this cause this? 4. steering r...

Clunk/pop noise when depressing/letting up on brake pedal

Hi folks, 96 855 here, just over 100k, with brakes that are nearing the end of their lives (i.e. soon to be replaced). My car has been exhibiting something a little unsettling, and I'd like to figure out what it is. When I put on the brakes, the car slows down fairly well, without a lot of pull (I t...
