I've had a few people tell me that it is most likely the catalytic converter has come loose could this be accurate

How much would that improve and where would I be able to find those parts?

The sound is coming from in between the steerig wheel and the engine and sounds like it is below.

I guess power at first. And it's the S60 2.4 5 cyl

It seems to come from the front but I can't really tell. And it only happens when the car is in motion but happens regardless of speed. It doesn't do it in neutral. And I will try that.

I am trying to improve the overall performance of my S60 without spending too much money. If you all have any suggestions it'd be nice. Thanks

My S60 makes an odd rattling sound when I accelerate to about 1500-3000 RPM's but after I hit around 3000 the sounds stops. I'm not sure what made the noice start happening but I was wondering and if anyone has any ideas about what it could be, if so, thanks
