still new to the whole volvo experience

i was just wondering if there is any real problem with my exhaust ...
what happend was that the pipe coming out of the muffler rusted and snapped off...... there dosent really seem to be any real problem.. is this damaging..or (to all the aussies ...

i was just wondering if it is normal for a 16 year old volvo to stall whilst in 'park'
it dosent always stall ... only sometimes .. but the engine sounds really really weak when in park idoling...but once you get it going it is fine
..could this possibly be the fuel pump acting up (ie ...

oh ok , well first up ill check the belt if thats not it .. then straight onto the next idea
