But before that, let me say a big thank you for all the informations and tips to help me save money on fixing my Volvo. The help was wonderful and very useful. I do hope to get back in...

Re: Alternator Replaced now "El Power System"

My guess is that the replacement alternator had a bad power regulator (it's a part within the alternator body which regulate the power output) so it was fluctuating, hence the error message.

Maybe but considering that I have lost the last key, this is the best I could do. Otherwise, I would have saved 150$ by ordering from another dealer which offer a rebate for Volvo club members (we have a club for Quebec Volvo owners).

I've paid about 500$ for 2 keys and a remote including programming for a '00.

Re: 1999-2003 C70 coupe?

through 98 Volvo used the selectable S/E with Winter mode switch. 99 and later have the two shift schedules decided on by the TCM based on your throttle application. Less aggressive throttle use gets you the softer sooner upshifts of the previous E setting and aggressive throttle gets you the S mod...

Re: Volvo 850 GLT - Complete steering failure

EDIT: Forget about this last post, found how to determine that. So looking for some new inner and outer tie rods. One question - what is the difference between TRW and SMI rods, and which one am I supposed to have? Or can I just buy either? Thanks again guys. You can't buy either. Most would be usi...

Same guess after seeing the air filter... Surprised that you didn't kill a mouse hiding in the air intake

Mine is a 00 and there are no noise at all from the AWD drivetrain, confirmed by a Volvo mechanic and a few indy.

Re: Volvo 850 GLT - Complete steering failure

With those signs, I guess that's a tie rod failure on that side which caused it to get out of alignment. Better to tow and get it fixed before it snap and cause more suspension/drivetrain parts damage.
