Re: Sad day, Volvo totaled!

Well, I'm 1,000 miles away in rust-free Texas. My 1997 850R is probably already sold, because I am holding it for a Craigslister who is supposed to show up at the end of this week to buy it, but you never know if he'll take it, or turn away. So, its not for sale until he sees it and decides not to b...

Volvo 850 Trailer Hitch, wiring, complete

Too heavy/bulky to bother shipping, but I just removed this Curt hitch, with 1 1/4" receiver from my 1997 850 R Sedan. Might also fit wagons, and V 70's, but check the Curt Hitches site. Complete hitch with mounting bolts, Receiver bar and 1 7/8" ball, Includes the wiring, including a long 12 gauge ...

Re: MY 850 just boiled over, and its brown!

UPADTE: I let it cool down for 30 minutes, then loosened the filler cap (no hiss) and started it It began spouting and puking violently, definitely oil in the coolant...lots of it! pulsating at about one-cylinder-firing intervals...so the Oil Cooler theory is out, right? Head gasket (Arrggg!), right...

MY 850 just boiled over, and its brown!

My coolant has been kept very clean. Short drive this morning (5 miles), heard noise, pulled over and coolant was puking past the (new green) filler cap...and its brown! Internal oil cooler in radiator? Blown Head gasket (I just replaced 3,000 miles ago during Valve Job, and I sure don't want to re-...

Re: stuck spark plug

My personal suggestion, and I'm no expert: Liberally (regardless of your political leanings... ) spray the PB Blaster down to the plug base (using the little plastic tube)...allow to soak down at least overnight . Check next day with strong flashlight to see if it has seeped down into the thre...

Re: 1998 T5 won't start

Does the engine crank? When you get there see if it squirts gas out of the Schrader Valve on the fuel rail. It'll be the "Got Spark? Got gas? " check .
The key being stuck COULD have been a cocked steering wheel.

Does 850 key have electronics inside?

I am going to have a duplicate key cut..does my 1997 850R key have anything inside the black plastic part, or can I just have a plain metal one cut?
