Re: 2000 XC70 - ECM-644A issue
Thanks... the belt was put on wrong. My mechanic straightened everything out and now the cam adaptation readings are hovering around -3 to -4, well within range. No more light.

Re: 2000 XC70 - ECM-644A issue
Thanks for your input. I was pretty sure they did it wrong. Those values were way out of line. It's actually somewhere else getting new tires, inner and outer tie rods, and lower control arms installed. I'll bring it back to the guy who did the timing belt next week after I get it back. I'll also cl...

2000 XC70 - ECM-644A issue
I keep getting the 644A code set in the ECM. I'm pretty sure it started happening right after I got my timing belt changed, but not 100% sure. I recently changed all of the plugs and one coil that appeared to be flaky. The idle is a little better, but not great. I also cleaned out the reset valve an...

Re: SRS reset
+1 on the Autel. If your car model and year is covered, it's great. It does ECM, TCM, ABS and SRS. I just used it yesterday to reset my daughter's TCM to get rid of the dreaded blinking up arrow. FYI - I just checked my US703 that has the Volvo.zip file loaded in it and the 850 is not listed at all....

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
Just to close the loop.... it's fixed. The SRS module was bad. I found one on eBay for $25 (included shipping!). I installed it, put the key in the #2 position and reconnected the battery. The light went out within about 5 seconds. I was also able to determine that the MaxiDiag US703 that I have can...

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
The tool I have reads engine, ABS, transmission and airbags codes. It supports CAN, but not those other specialized functions (definitely not the seats, immobilizer, etc.). I'm not sure which network the device pulls the SRS codes from. Too bad it's not a '98. I already have FCR and a VAG cable. I'd...

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
I dragged out my old Leader scope, set the coupling to AC (to get rid of the DC component of the signal), connected the probe to the fuse powering the SRS module. Tested with headlights, rear defogger, and blower motor on high. Ripple varies from 20-50mV depending on the RPM of the engine. There wer...

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
The dealer could not read/reset the code either. That's the problem.

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
@jimmy - Good idea, I'll drag the scope out and take a quick look. The dealer checked the alternator when they replaced the battery for me (they couldn't program new keys because it was low), but who knows if they checked for ripple or picket fencing. Probably not... @Matty - I zipped up the files a...

Re: SRS light and no comm to the SRS module
The only difference between the JP701, EU702, US703, and the FR704 are the brand files that are loaded into the flash memory. Since there is spare flash space, I added them all but the Benz files (that one wouldn't fit - it's huge compared to the others). If the EU702 works to read/reset SRS, mine w...
