Re: Let's see your Volvo (The Photo Thread)
Here are some further pics to the 850R Estate I bought 3 months ago. Have a manual gearbox ready to go in. Getting around to put registration on it. Then come power upgrades and coilovers.

Re: 1994 855 XC70 2004 interior/running gear swap
Yeah however in Australia Volvo tags a high price. You can get a cheap one that is near death. A good one is next to impossible to find. Mine was a fluke in pretty good condition at $2000. Three years down the track and lots of little thing being replaced. I can get a T5 engine for about $800, thoug...

1994 855 XC70 2004 interior/running gear swap
So the old 855 interior, engine and gearbox are really starting to get bad. I found a wrecked 2004 XC70. What I'm thinking of doing is transferring all the running gear and interior to the 855. Anyone done something like it? I really love the 850 shape and my car. If this XC ends cheap (under $500) ...

Volvo pickup/ulility conversion
Hi all,
So I was trawling the web and found few 850 Volvo pickup/utility vehicles.
Are these modified ones or from Volvo? I would love to convert one.

Re: About to add another Volvo to the family
'ello all! Decided to flush the top end on the 850 and run some better fuel, seems to have helped. Also did a transmission fluid change on the 850, much better now. The V70T is ready for registration, housemate and I spend the Sunday cleaning. My 850's paintwork is ruined thanks to years of previous...

Re: About to add another Volvo to the family
Good to know. It's either a motor/gearbox swap or rebuild both.rspi wrote:I lived in Japan for 4 years. Whatever mileage that motor has on it, consider it x4 due to their extreme city driving conditions.

Re: About to add another Volvo to the family
Hello, hello! Well damn and blast! A compression test was done with one cylinder showing 90 Psi with the rest hovering around 140 Psi. After a thorough clean I'm no closer to an increase in cylinder compression. Fortunately I happened upon a 10v engine and gearbox from Japan with 52,000Km for $500 a...

Re: About to add another Volvo to the family
It's been a while so here's an update for my volvo family: The V70 has had a whole bunch of things replaced, the biggest problem is the TPS. It's completely stuffed. On the plus side just registered with Volvo to become certified in repairs. The 850 had all the engine mounts done on the weekend, dam...

Re: About to add another Volvo to the family
Well found the oil cooler had a hole in it letting oil into the coolant. Replaced faulty coil packs. Next is plugs and exhaust fix.
Just replaced the thermostat on the 850, it was not in a good way.
