Thanks Bill....got the starter working , but if I try to start it with the doors locked , it sets of the alarm. Did you use a relay to bypass the locked door.

My money would still be on the strut mounts. With the car sitting in the driveway , with the bonnet up, bounce it as hard as you can , and you will hear them knock

The parts dept at my local dealer has faxed me beautiful blowup parts diagrams when I need to research a part. Is this available online? I heard someone mention a VADIS? I see where I can buy a volvo service manual for $59 dollars, but would like the convenience of online access. worth the money......

I had a similar problem with my winter beater, an 95 850. I replaced the relay with a spare I had and haven't had the problem since...knock on wood
