Thank you so much. I think I can take it from here. You’ve been a God-Send.

Re: What's Under the Hood?

Thanks so much. Where is this device located in reference to the throtle body itself? Is there a picture somewhere? When I removed the black plastic cowling everything looked clean and good. I located the section on "Accelerator cable removal/replacement in my Haynes manual, but I couldn’t find...

Re: What's Under the Hood?

If you’re standing in front of the 850 Base 1997, looking down into the engine compartment at the engine itself, there is a component that is bolted onto the engine on the RIGHT SIDE toward the TOP next to the spark plug cover. It’s making a ticking sound. What is its function and why has it started...

Re: rear door trim panel 1997 850 wagon

Well, I have an update. I finally did have to resort to using cedar blocks (cut from a 2x4 to the exact size needed) and epoxy glue and to finally secure the panel to my newly installed wood blocks I used 4 deck screws. It is very secure now and there are no rattles at all. By using the screws to se...

Re: 850 and V70 Wagon Roof Trim

Please let me know if the trim is still available. Mine 850 wagon trim did the peal thing and I’ve just about decided to let the shinny side show on its own, but the side strips of rubber are now coming loose as well.....just a matter of time before these things are flying and whipping around in the...

Re: 93 850, clicking noise from behind glove box

When I made the odometer repair routine on my 850 today I noticed the damper with connecting arm just hanging out all alone. Someone has already removed this wonderful control motor thing. My car seems to heat and cool just fine so do I really need this malfunctioning bit of over-engineering? let me...

Re: what size were the original tires ? 1997 850R Wagon (tur

I just bought a 1997 850 Base Wagon and its wheels are 16” Dia. The present set of tires are Mich. 195/60R15. I really don’t understand tire sizes, etc. These tires appear to have a very low profile and a nice tread, but I would like to get something that might ride a bit quieter and softer. These t...

Re: rear door trim panel 1997 850 wagon

I tried the rubber grommet approach to fix my loose tailgate panel and I finally got it to work. One additional word of advice to any of you who might experience frustration with this repair. I had to learn how to gently apply a rocking pressure to each of the 4 clip posts when pressing them into th...
