Engineering Bloke - I'm quite sure the bulb is being inserted into the reflective housing properly. The tab structure on the H11 bulb requires that it enter in a specific orientation to allow for 'engagement' with the reflector housing. I have a nagging problem with my driver side low beam outlet. The bulb gets so hot it melts the outlet. I am on my fifth replacement low beam outlet/plug! My 2000 V70's driver side low beam is out. Put in a new bulb...no joy. Checked continuity between the male contacts of the new bulb, check. Checked voltage to plug, check (11.6 volts with the car not started and the passenger side low beam lit). Insert plug into bulb...no joy. What am I missing?
