Re: Non-Turbo Engine Probs: Bad Coil Pack or MAF sensor?
Did some more research on this issue: The coil packs can be unplugged while the engine is running. Unplug one at a time and see if it makes a difference. Once you've found one you can unplug without seeing a drop in engine performance, swap the coil with working one and verify the bad coil has moved...

Non-Turbo Engine Probs: Bad Coil Pack or MAF sensor?
Hey guys, I've had my 2001 S60 non-turbo for about 3 years now, and I have just been plauged with problems. Now I'm facing some engine issues. When my engine is warm, and I'm stopped at a light, the engine randomly jerks (Feels like a random misfire). This happens 1-4 times and the RPMs bounce down ...

Thanks for all the replies!
Just dropped my car off at the shop. I asked to be shown all the replaced parts. Hopefully my other seals are still entact.

Re: engine revs
Sounds like you're having ETM issues. Too bad your ETM is out of warranty. I saw the same issues with my car. After carefully removing the ETM and cleaning it with soft cloth and throttle body spray, I noticed quite a difference. Also I noticed that after resetting my car's computers (disconnecting ...

Re: S60 Engine Vaccuum Pressure Causing Engine to Whisle
Thanks for the bad news JRL!
I scheduled an appointment with my local shop, Utah Imports, for tomorrow. They quoted me $483 after tax, does that seem reasonable?
Also, would a seafoam treatment possibly help me in this situation?
Thanks guys!

Re: S60 Engine Vaccum Pressure Causing Engine to Whisle
Thanks for the quick reply! Do you have any idea how much something like that would cost to have replaced? Are you describing the black box behind the alternator? Also, should I completely stop driving my car until I can get an appointment?

S60 Engine Vaccuum Pressure Causing Engine to Whisle
Hey guys, I have a non-turbo 2001 S60. When my engine warms up, a whistling noise is emitted from under my hood. When the RPMs are low, the engine's RPMs fluctuate from 500-1000. It almost looks like failing ETM behavior, I feel like the engine is going to stall and die. Anyway, I believe this whisl...
