Re: 1995 Volvo 850 Battery problem
I've found two blown 10-amp fuses, and replaced one...but of course, I only HAVE one. Off to Wal Mart to get the other. Fingers crossed.

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 Battery problem
Rule #1: people who make television for a living and rarely tinker with their car...shouldn't. I broke rule #1. Turns out I hooked up the battery backwards. Somehow in my mind I'd switched red and black (hand slaps forehead here) Oh well. Now the battery cranks and there doesn't seem to be any fire....

Re: 1995 Volvo 850 Battery problem
Red-to-negative, black to positive. It's not on wrong.
Autozone checked and their replacement battery is the T5 in a different brand and that, too, has posts in the front. It's got a 3-year 100% replacement warranty, so it's not a cheapie battery.

1995 Volvo 850 Battery problem
As are all the problems I've ever posted, here's a weird one: My wife reported the battery dead, so I took it to a store, had it tested, and yes, it needed a replacement. They had but one that would work, a T5, so I bought it for $125 (!). I brought it home and noticed the posts were toward the fron...

Re: My 95 Volvo 850
Just an online manual. The purchase was really kind of a fluke. I haven't had a Volvo in about 10 years, and had a little savings account I'd been dropping money into. Suddenly I had the yen to look on craigslist to see how expensive a Volvo would be and I found this one for $1800. It's got a few sl...

Re: My 95 Volvo 850
I pulled the cover off the driver's side door speaker, and it was there. I think I even checked solder joints (this was about a month ago). I also have seen two of the others that are mounted on the back deck, behind the headrests. I haven't checked the other doors, or the two in the dash, but all t...

My 95 Volvo 850
All-- I bought a great old 850 a couple of months ago, knowing the radio only put out in one speaker, and the audio there was bad. I was counseled that the problem was the radio itself and that I should go to ebay for a replacement. I did so, replacing my SC710 with an SC812. It was pretty disappoin...

My Current Volvo
...is a 1995 850 with a completely oxidized paint job. Depending on its mechanical durability, I may get it painted and make it a project car. I bought my first Volvo in 1973 in Austin, Texas for all of $175. It was a 1958 Duett, complete with a post running down the center windshield. Had a lot of ...
