Re: S60 Slow Acceleration

May I suggest replacing ATF? Hard acceleration happens with the torque converter not locked, so all of the engine torque is transferred through the ATF.

Idemitsu Type-TLS works well in this transmission.

Re: PCV replacement on 05 xc70

Make sure you have an updated banjo bolt, with the ball valve inside. The problem with PCV parts is they develop cracks. Even if all the car was seeing is a synthetic oil (PAO, not HC) the PCV may leak vacuum because of cracks. That thin plastic pipe failed in my PCV in just 3 years, I probably had ...

Re: PCV replacement on 05 xc70

Yes, replace everything. That coolant pipe is a heated PCV pipe that works when engine is under the boost, i.e. most of driving. Turbo engines have very little places where it can take vacuum, so clogged/cracked pipe will loose whatever vacuum was available. That's why the pipe is heated.

Re: Air Coming from Vents After Car Turned Off

You have a parasitic drain somewhere. CEM will not start afterblow if the battery is weak. I use AGM battery, the one I got in 2012. Short distances now as well, but all is good. Search for parasitic drain. Failed alarm siren is a common problem that drains the battery. Afterblow is for mildew preve...

Re: Auto Gearbox Clunk Issue

You have to measure it with the engine running, otherwise it will be high.

Re: P0101 & P0102 not clearing

Small evap leak can be a bad (cracked) gas cap gasket.

Common places for vacuum leak in 2.5T are a small hose between turbo and over-the-engine charge pipe and PCV.

Re: 2002 XC70 Hood release cable broke

I have two pieces of old cable attached to the locks and hidden in around air baffle (the plastic part between bumper and subframe). In case my cable suddenly snaps in locks area I would still be able to open the hood.

Re: Replace ball joints with control arms? ('04 XC)

I think it is commanded by EU's ecomafia to use a portion of recycled rubbish in replacement parts. I had both Lemforder and Volvo bushings pressed in myself, both last for long time. Volvo ones are 75k miles old now, and they are still good. Not new, but good. I take my wagon into interesting place...
