Oil isn't so much of an issue, but the fuel prices... 2x Oil fill is ~the same as one fuel fill up. I switched to my Kia for the time being, that shitbox uses half the fuel.
But yeah, always wise to have some stock at home (I also do that), but keep in mind, in theory the shelf life is about 5 years ...

Re: 99 S70 GLT - your opinion on blower/fan
Btw, I just found the part number form my order back then. If you are able to remove the motor from the blower cage, you can buy just the replacement motor: BOSCH 0 130 111 134
That is what I did on the 1995 850 back then.

Re: 850 Rear Brake Repair - AGAIN - Tips
Hey. Since my left rear brake was a bit stuck, I did a "quick" on-car rebuild of the caliper. Is there a trick to installing the outer seal? I could not get it on and reused the old ones. Ofc I can't clean it 100% while not removed... I will try a 36mm socket to press them on next chance, as that ...

looks like ASTEMO is the automotive part of Hitachi, go for it, why not. Seems they manufacture it themselves, which would be my only concern that its some rebranded crap.

Never heard of a hitachi fuel pump, but they do make high quality tools etc. I'd go with the bosch probably, only because I never had any car parts from hitachi.

Re: Engine Braking by constantly changing to 3 from D
I use the brake pedal, helps keep them rust free. On long downhills of course downshift.
I am not sure how it should behave from new, I already had to replace the TCU, and recently the TPS which also changed shifts. But it is similar that there is almost no engine breaking in D

Alright, then I'm out of ideas. You can test the wastegate, just disconnect the arm and see if it moves freely.
Air leak b4 the turbo is after the MAF, so imo it would read low and be lean.
Edit: 195 kpa is 1.95bar. So I assume thats including atmosphere so it should have around 0,95 bar. Nice that ...

Well, ok. Sounds more like overboost/protection to me. I'm not sure on the c70, but the 850 stock ecu is very tame and will feed the boost gradually, you won't have full boost at 3k rpm I think. Is it tuned? maybe wastegate or boost solenoid setup incorrectly?

Probably not ignition? Because that feels like the car is shaking apart under WOT.
A boost leak usually just feels like missing power... not so much misfiring (in my experience). You can get something similar to this to really test the induction system: https://www.amazon.de/Turbolader-Ladeluft ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I started driving my 850 again this week, and noticed a "flat spot" when accelerating (push pedal more, nothing changes, until much later).
Sometimes it is good to take a break, then you notice these things more. I was chasing 2 codes from before, 231 and 233, idle fuel trim and long term part ...
